Showstoppers 2026-27 Season
Audition Dates
WEDNESDAY, July 8 OR THURSDAY July 9th, 2026 – 12:30pm-1:30pm
We anticipate that auditions will last approximately 1 hour, but the actual length may vary depending on the number of students who audition. We ask that parents/guardians/rides stay at the CTA in the lobby or in their car during the audition time.
To participate in Showstoppers, ensemble members must be registered for at least two classes – a VOICE class and a DANCE or MUSICAL THEATER/PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP class at the CTA. However, you do not need to be registered for these to audition.

Participation fee: $150.00
If more than one family member is accepted into the Company, the first child will pay $150.00 and the second $100.00.
The Company Member and family should be aware that there are other costs involved, such as transportation and appropriate shoes. As with all CTA programs, scholarships are available.
AUDITION MATERIAL
Please arrive in comfortable clothing you can dance in, as well as dance shoes or tennis shoes (no open-toed shoes, Crocs, or sandals, please). We will teach a song and dance combination at the audition.
Part of the audition is to observe how quickly your child can pick up and respond to the material. This is a fast-paced rehearsal and performance process. This is not a class.
Students will also do a group vocal warm-up and will be asked to sing something very brief on their own. They can sing anything they’ve learned at the CTA, “Happy Birthday” or another familiar song. No sheet music is needed, but our accompanist will play for them.
REHEARSALS/PERFORMANCES
Jump Start rehearsals are July 27th – August 5th at the CTA from 11 am-1 pm, Monday -Thursday only. No rehearsal on August 6th.
The “jump start” weeks’ goal is to learn the material in the show.
In addition to our Jump Start week, there will be clean-up rehearsals on Thursday evenings throughout September and October at the CTA from 7pm-8:00pm.
A schedule of performances will be handed out in September. Show bookings are usually on weekends. We will only rehearse and perform in November/December 2026. The Showstoppers will also be featured performers in our ONE NIGHT ONLY Fundraising event on March 12, 2027 at Carnegie Music Hall.
