Frequently Asked Questions

How long are your semesters?

The Center operates under a two-semester school year schedule.

In the summer we offer three discrete sessions of Summer Camp.

The High School Musical runs from September to February, and the All School Musical runs from April to early June. Both are one-time payment programs.

How do I know which class is appropriate for my student?

You can use our age ranges to narrow down your search for classes for your student. Most classes are open to both new and returning students, unless otherwise noted in their description. The first two weeks of classes are also often used as a placement window; students may have the option to swap classes based on teacher recommendation and availability.

We are also always happy to help guide you – simply call us during business hours to speak with someone about a good option for your student.

How much are classes?

The cost depends on the frequency and length of each weekly class, as well as the staff size. All prices listed are per semester. Payment plans are available.

Do I have to pay all at once or is there a payment plan option?

Payment in full or in installments with a payment plan are available both online and in person. Contact the office if you need additional flexibility or help scheduling your payments.

Do you offer financial aid?

Scholarships, family discounts and financial aid are available to those who qualify. Please click here for more information.

Are there performance opportunities?

All of our classes include a performance component as part of the educational process. The Theater Arts are meant to be shared! Please refer to the individual class descriptions for more information about each program’s final sharing, or contact us at the front desk for guidance.

  • Semester 1 culminates with Visitors’ Week – a chance for family and friends to attend class and gain insight into the process and see a small in-class performance.
  • Semester 2 culminates with Showcase Weeks. Each class will have a performance for family and friends.
    • Voice, Performance Workshop, Special Actors’ programs, all Junior Division classes, and all dance classes will perform their showcases at Mellon Middle School.
    • Acting and Musical Theater classes will have their performances at the CTA.

All students who are registered for a class are eligible to participate in the All School or High School musicals (depending on age).

What are the age requirements?

We offer programs for ages 4 through high school. Students must register for programs that they are the appropriate age for.

Our Special Actors program serves students ages 8+, including adults.

Do you have to audition to go into a class?

Most classes are open enrollment, however, some of the more advanced classes are by invitation or audition.

Does your faculty have all necessary clearances?

Yes

What is your refund policy?

School Year/After School Programs
Before the first day of class, the Center will refund 100% of your tuition, less a $15 registration/processing fee. If a student withdraws before the third class, a pro-rated refund will be given, less $15 registration fee. No refunds will be granted after the third week of the semester. Any balance due after withdrawal must be paid in full.

Summer Camps
Due to their immense popularity, limited inventory, and the quick timeline of our summer camps – we have a different policy for refunds for our summer programs. This allows us to ensure we are able to serve as many students as possible.

Up until two weeks before the start of your camp, the Center will refund 100% of your tuition less a $15 registration/processing fee.
Within two weeks of your camp starting, if we are able to fill your child’s spot, the Center will refund 100% of your tuition less a $15 registration/processing fee. If we are unable to fill your child’s spot within these two weeks, the Center will refund your tuition less the $15 registration/processing fee and a $50 fee.

After the first day of camp, no refund will be granted.

How can I register?

You may register online or in person at the CTA during business hours. We recommend calling before coming in.
