On With the Show!

The show goes on this summer

Body Copy at top: The Center for Theater Arts is excited to announce our summer programming, ON WITH THE SHOW! This summer’s programming will feature 2-week production camps beginning June 20th. Covid precautions, including masks, will still be in effect to ensure students and instructors are safer as we get back to the stage and enrich our students lives through the performing arts.

Summer Camp I – Newsies Jr.

June 20th-30th | Ages 7-12

This broadway adaptation is inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City. When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys’ expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, they learn they are stronger united.

Including the now-classic songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe.”

Summer Camp I – Disenchanted

June 20th-30th | Ages 12+

Poisoned apples. Glass slippers. Who needs ’em?! Not Snow White and her posse of disenchanted princesses in the hilarious hit musical that’s anything but Grimm. The original storybook heroines are displeased with their portrayals in today’s pop culture, so they’ve tossed their tiaras and have come to life to set the record straight. These royal renegades are here to comically belt out the truth.

Summer Camp II – Frozen Jr.

July 5th-14th | Ages 4-7

Do you want to build a snowman? Join Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and all of your favorite characters as they embark on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the meaning of true love. Adapted for young performers from the Broadway Disney favorite, this musical includes favorite Frozen songs such as “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production.

Summer Camp II & III
High School Musical Jr.

July 5th-14th for Ages 7-13 | August 1st-11th for Ages 4-7

The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians, and Skater Dudes all find their cliques. Basketball team captain, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on a ski trip, just enrolled at East High. The couple causes an upheaval when they audition for the school musical. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might open the door for others to shine.
